Bless the Children's Mission is to free abandoned and impoverished children from the chains of poverty by empowering them with health, shelter, educational and spiritual support so that they may become productive members of their society.

Vietnam: 8-year-old Nguyen Thi Thuy

When we first learned of Thuy's condition her doctor said she needed heart surgery immediately.  She was suffering from dangerous heart disease and was getting very skinny and blue.  Her skin was turning blue because her blood was deficient in oxygen.  Thuy's life was in serious danger.

Although learning of their daughter’s disease a long time ago, her family couldn’t do anything but watch her become weaker and weaker, day after day, because they had no way of paying for her surgery.  Her parents are both poor farmers.

On their small piece of land they plant rice and have an annual income of $106. The father also works as a mason assistant and earns an average of $438 a year but this is an unstable job - he only has work in the sunny season. The mother could not earn extra money because she had to take care of her sick child and two little children – Thuy’s young sisters. With such small income, $544 for an entire year, it was nearly impossible for them to make savings.

With the help of caring donors we were able to help this precious child receive the surgery she so desperately needed.  Following Thuy's surgery her doctor said her health status was excellent.

Thuy's father shares his family's appreciation:

"Today is the day our child Thuy is discharged from the hospital, is the day she was born for the second time after long time at hospital for her heart surgery.  Our family sincerely thanks your organization for widely opening your kind-hearted arms and helping her gain a healthy life.  Now her health is going rather well.

"We couldn't say enough thankful words for your great help, please permit us to lower our heads for thanking you - compassionate hearts.

"We wish that poor children with heart condition like our child can also receive your help."

Save the life of a child today.
