Student Scholarships - Honduras

Kindergartens:
In Honduras it is common for there to be no kindergarten education available to children.  When it is available most often the teachers have no money to buy learning aids.  In order to provide children the education they need at an early age we have helped establish 3 kindergartens and support many others.

Elementary School:
This program is designed to help provide education to children who are at risk of having to beg in the streets or work at a very young age to help support their families.  We have learned that parents are encouraged to allow their children to attend school when all tools they need are provided.

High School:
While working in the Mico Quemado mountain region we were asked by many children for sponsorship to attend high school in El Progreso.  We learned there was no education beyond the 6th grade within the mountains.  Working with the local people and with donations of money and materials we were able to establish the first high school ever in the region.

Trade School:
In Honduras only 30% of all children attend high school.  Those that do usually find themselves unemployed because they have not learned the hands-on skills required by most vocations.  In our effort to help rescue children from the chains of poverty we provide trade school scholarships so they may become skilled, become employed and provide for their families.
